| خلاصه مقاله | Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a concern
for women's childbearing. This study aimed to examine the
impact of SLE duration on women's childbearing.
Materials and Methods: This study was conducted on 429
women of reproductive age (15–49 years) with SLE. Research
was conducted from January 21, 2023, to March 20, 2024, in
the rheumatology clinic and the Iranian Lupus Association of
Tehran, Iran. Data was randomly collected through an online
questionnaire. The data collection instruments included the researcher
making questionnaires (SLE duration: less than 1, 1-5,
5-10, more than 10 years; the category of pregnancies, births,
and children’s numbers (0, 1-2, 3-4, more than 4) before and after
contracting SLE). The collected data were entered into SPSS
software version 27 and analyzed using Kendall’s Tau test at a
significant level of P<0.01.
Results: The findings revealed a significant relationship between
the SLE duration with other diseases associated with
SLE (R: 0.18, P: <.001, CI95%: 0.08 to 0.27), the number of
pregnancies (R: 0.296, P: <.001, CI95%: 0.21 to 0.37), the
number of birth(R: 0.234, P: <.001, CI95%: 0.15 to 0.31), and
the number of children (R: 0.203, P: <.001, CI95%: 0.12 to
0.28) after contracting SLE.
Conclusion: According to the finding of study, despite the increase
in diseases associated with SLE as the duration of SLE
has prolonged, the number of pregnancies, births, and children
of women with SLE has increased, perhaps one of the most
important reasons for this is the suitable care and monitoring
programs of the rheumatology clinic and Iranian Lupus Association
of Tehran, Iran.
