Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted disease that be able to be transmitted through cosmetic procedures. The aim of this study was to assess the relation of genital laser epilation with STD history in people contracted with HPV.
Methods and Materials:
This study was conducted on 429 people (220women and 209 men) with HPV from Sep 15, 2023, to Apr 30, 2024 in Hospitals of Tabriz, Iran. Data was andomly collected through a questionnaire. The data collection instruments included esearcher making questionnaires (Genital Laser Epilation: no, laser, epilation, both; STD history: yes, no). The collected data were entered into SPSS 27 software and analyzed using Pearson chi-square at a significant level of P < 0.01.
Results:
In this study 33.6% female and 4.4% male used genital laser. Also 21.2% female and 3.8% male had STD. The findings revealed a significant relationship between genital laser epilation with STD history (x 2 : 17.77, df: 2, P: 0.009). According to Cramer’s correlation value (v: 0.148) their correlation was moderate.
Conclusion and Discussion:
According to the study findings, despite the relation of genital laser epilation with STD history in people contracted with HPV, their associations were moderate. May be other reason in accordance with it can exaggerate STD of people that contracted HPV. |
