| خلاصه مقاله | Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents are used to improve the images contrast to better differentiation of normal and pathologic tissues. With the advancement of nanotechnology, MRI nano contrast agents such as iron oxide, manganese oxide, and gadolinium oxide-based nanostructures have received a great attention. These nanostructures have been investigated for wide range of the biomedical applications. For instance, iron oxide nanoparticles have been used for cancer detection, tumor targeting, inflammation/infection diagnosis, atherosclerotic plaques detection, drug delivery, and hyperthermia treatment. The nanoparticles have been investigated for dual-mode imaging such as MRI/Optical imaging, MRI/CT (computed tomography), MRI/PET (positron emission tomography), MRI/SPECT (single-photon emission computed tomography), and MRI/PAI (photoacoustic imaging), and multi-mode imaging such as MRI/CT/FI (fluorescence imaging), and MRI/PAI/FI. MRI nano contrast agents have been also considered as the diagnostic portion of the nanotheranostics solely or in combination with the contrast materials or radioisotopes of other imaging modalities. |
