| خلاصه مقاله | Airborne PM is one of the main pollutants related to health. On the other hand, the occurrence of dust storms in recent years is related to the increase in the concentration of PM in the air and their effectiveness. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of investigating the concentration of interleukin-6 (IL-6) as a biomarker in EBC among two groups of healthy and asthmatic people and comparing its relationship with the concentration of PM. In this panel study, 46 teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 were selected and placed in two groups consisting of healthy and asthmatic people. In order to investigate the effect of PM on the subjects, the concentration of the biomarker interleukin-6 (IL-6) in EBC samples of subjects was measured using ELISA kits and the relationship between them was compared and analyzed statistically. Average daily concentrations of PM on dust days were about 5 times higher than normal days. The results of this study showed that the concentration of the studied biomarker was higher in asthmatic people compared to healthy people and asthmatic people are more susceptible to exposure to airborne PM compared to healthy people. |
