| خلاصه مقاله | Background Cardiovascular disease (CVD) as a major cause of death globally, remains a great challenge for clinical remedy. The design and development of novel drugs and their application in disease treatments in the human model have many limitations. The efficacy and safety of preclinical medications in two-dimensional (2D) cell cultures and animal model fail in representing human physiological conditions. Small regulatory microRNAs (miRNAs) play key roles in vast biological events including cardiovascular development. MiRNAs are non-coding RNAs with a crucial role in controlling gene expression involved in various biological processes. Results Some miRNAs be involved in the development human heart such as miR-1, miR-21, miR-421, and miR-181. Some miRNAs may be considered useful biomarkers in different cardiovascular diseases including ventricular septal defect and myocardial infarction. Conclusion Nowadays, human cardiac organoids for CVDs modelling have considerable progress in the realm of maturation, improving cell therapy, and drug screening studies. Critical cardiac-specific miRNAs can be considered in recent investigations as novel biomarkers in different CVDs. |
