| خلاصه مقاله | Introduction: In recent years, the concept of active patient participation in care has been emphasized as a crucial element in achieving healthcare outcomes in health policies. The purpose of this study is to identify the fields and areas of patients' participation in measures related to the safety of care.
Method: A comprehensive review of published English texts from 2000 to 2024 was conducted by searching for appropriate keywords in Scopus, PubMed, Web of science and ProQuest databases on the topic of patient participation in measures related to the safety of care. The research is structured according to Arxi and O'Malley's framework, and the data analysis is conducted using the content analysis method.
Results: Using the search strategy, 2951 articles were retrieved. 38 articles met the inclusion criteria. The largest number of studies were conducted in the United States. In addition, 2015 had the highest number of articles published in that year. From these articles, five fields of participation were identified, including the prevention of patient falls, prevention of drug interactions, prevention and awareness of medical errors, participation in infection control, and education and promotion of awareness.
Conclusion: Patient participation in care-related measures should be supported as a means to improve patient safety. Patients' participation in healthcare safety necessitates empowering them by enhancing their health literacy and knowledge, as well as by changing the attitudes of healthcare providers |
