Introduction: Artificial intelligence (AI) applications are growing in implant dentistry. AI is the science of making intelligent machines, like software programs, to simulate human intelligence. These machines or computer programs can learn, reason, solve problems, and perform tasks that require intellectual processing.
Objective: Investigating the use and application of AI in implant dentistry.
Methodology: It was done by searching for valid articles from Google Scholar and PubMed databases by searching keywords such as artificial intelligence, dental implants, deep learning, and implant dentistry.
Results: After the publications were reviewed, five primary groupings of results were identified and examined with the use of artificial intelligence in implant dentistry. Artificial intelligence models were employed to ascertain the type of implant system, predict the success rate of implants and the rate of bone loss in cases of peri-implantitis, create implant-supported crowns, and enhance the design and treatment strategy of dental implants.
Conclusion: AI models in implant dentistry have shown great potential and can improve the efficiency of dental practice. Further studies are needed to evaluate the clinical performance and implementation of this approach in routine dental practices, especially implant dentistry.
