| خلاصه مقاله | Abstract Intra-articular and avulsion fractures are more common in children due to the increase in children's participation in high-impact sports. These injuries are frequently associated with adjacent soft-tissue and osteo-cartilaginous abnormalities which can complicate or alter therapy. In addition to epiphyseal fractures, the most commonly affected soft-tissue structures include the cruciate ligaments avulsions, collateral ligaments and supporting tendons, and extensor mechanism and retinacula. The diagnostics and treatment of acute knee effusion and strategies for managing intra-articular fractures in the pediatric knee require a high level of experience in order to prevent physeal arrest and possible sequelae and also to enable early recognition. The purpose of this article is to review avulsion fractures of the pediatric knee and to highlight associated injuries. |
