| خلاصه مقاله | Introduction Reassuring women to take part in screening program for cervical cancer cause early diagnosis and declining complication of this cancer. Medical students as future doctors will provide advice at cancer screening. The aim of this study is determining knowledge and attitude of medical students toward cervical cancer screening at Tabriz University of medical sciences in 2021. Materials and Methods This cross-sectional study included 118 medical students at Tabriz University of medical sciences in 2021. Data collected by using a 27‐items questionnaire that its validity and reliability had been confirmed by Mirblook and et al. The overall content validity ratio (CVR) and content validity index (CVI) were 0.84 and 0.81, respectively. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was established by Cronbach’s alpha of 0.77 and the ICC was 0.89. Data analysis performed by an Independent Samples t Test in SPSS Results This study included a total of 187 medical students. Among them, 118 ones completed the questionnaire (response rates 63 percent). The majority of participants were female (75 percent). The mean knowledge and attitude scores were 10.06 ± 2.31 (the range from zero to 14) and 8.03 ± 3.17(the range from zero to 13), respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in knowledge and attitude of medical students' score with respect to age, gender, marital status. The negative attitude considering cervical screening was caused by experiencing pain (67 percent), ulcer and hemorrhage (53 percent). Conclusions Though medical students have partially suitable knowledge and attitude toward cervical screening test, appropriate interventions are required to improve them. |
