| خلاصه مقاله | Pharmacy is one of the ancient and historical professions that play an important role in health and its
promotion in society. This profession, like other professions, has seen many ups and downs over time
and has faced different and growing approaches and attitudes. So that it has shifted from a purely
drug preparation and manufacturing approach to a drug preparation and manufacturing approach as
well as the provision of clinical services. Today, the philosophy of practice is based on patient-centered
services. The reason for the emergence of such a view is the change from a product-oriented or drugcentered approach to a patient-centered approach. The pharmacist, as a professional, must not only
have a thorough knowledge of pharmacy science, which is the basis of the pharmacy profession but
also know the patient, well, and be aware of his needs, interests, and wants. They must pay serious
attention and try to involve the patient in decisions related to medical and pharmaceutical care,
encourage the patient to participate in such decisions as his inalienable right, and with the decision of
treatment have wise companionship and cooperation.Pharmacy Practice is one of the most widely
used terms in the pharmaceutical profession and covers various aspects of the pharmaceutical
profession. Pharmacists in our country have different meanings for translating this term and each of
them uses different aspects of it. Most experts emphasize the professionalism of this term and state
that by using it, most aspects of the pharmaceutical profession are discussed and different aspects of
the profession should be considered, including skills, abilities, knowledge, and professional ethics.
Others point to the service aspect of the pharmaceutical profession, focusing on technical issues,
consulting, drug supply, and drug care. Some consider it the same as professionalism, while Pharmacy
Practice is one step ahead of professionalism and includes professionalism too.Pharmaceutical care is
a dimension and area of Pharmacy Practice and should be discussed accordingly. Pharmaceutical care
is a professional movement that began in the 1980s as a result of a profound change due to an
economic crisis in the US healthcare system. The principles of pharmaceutical care are derived from
the concept of Good Pharmacy Practice and their health systems consider both patient and economic
aspects. Pharmaceutical care, which began in the early twentieth century for socio-economic reasons,
continued into clinical pharmacy, which emerged around 1970. Studies show that pharmacological
care has a positive effect on the patient`s clinical and economic outcomes. Pharmaceutical care is a
type of patient-centered clinical service in which the service pharmacist assumes responsibility for
addressing the patient`s medication problems and is responsible for resolving them.In order for
pharmacists to become familiar with their professional responsibilities, codes and guidelines have
been developed in various countries, such as the Ethical Code of the Australian Pharmaceutical
Association, the Ethical Code of the New Zealand Medical Council, and the Ethical Code of the
American Pharmacists Association. In our country, ethical codes are designed as a comprehensive
document of pharmacy ethics and based on 8 principles, which are: the first principle: respect for the
dignity and autonomy of the patient, the second principle: Beneficence, the third principle: Nonmaleficence, the fourth principle: justice, Principle Five: Empathy, Principle Six: Job Excellence,
Principle Seven: Integrity, Principle Eight: Collaboration. By becoming familiar with these codes of
professional ethics, pharmacists will be able to perform their professional responsibilities properly and
be successful in providing medical care and helping to improve patient`s quality of life.
