| خلاصه مقاله | Introduction: Leukemia is related to the body's hematopoietic tissues, and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a common and deadly type. Immunosuppression is a new and promising treatment for AML patients.We aimed to evaluate the immune system of AML patients and highlight the clinical association between total bone marrow (BM) lymphocytes and subpopulations and response to treatment. Materials and Methods: Eighty-nine new AML (non-M3) cases were studied from October 2012 to February 2015 in Shahid Ghazi Tabatabai Hospital in Tabriz. Analysis of BM lymphocytes and subpopulations was done by flow cytometry. Results: In the group that achieved complete response (CR), the total BM and T lymphocyte levels were significantly higher than those in the refractory and premature death groups. P values were P <0.0001 and P <0.0341, respectively. In addition, overall survival (OS) and leukemia free survival (LFS) in patients with high percentage of BM T- lymphocytes were significantly longer. Conclusions: Assessment of total BM lymphocyte percentage and T Cell percentage are factors that can be combined with cytogenetics to predict total and leukemia-free survival better. Large-scale multicenter studies are recommended to elucidate the role of these factors in the OS and LFS advertising industry. |
