| خلاصه مقاله | Introduction: Violence comes in many forms, such as Community violence, Domestic and
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). The outbreak of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Forced many countries to implement stay-at-home and physical distancing measures. Home is
not a safe place for those who are experiencing or are at risk of abuse. This study aimed to
evaluate IPV against women during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Search Method: This systematic review was carried out of all the English and Persian articles
published in the following databases by 11 Jun. 2021: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science,
Embase, Google Scholar, Elmnet. The keywords searched alone or in combination with other
keywords included: 'Violence', 'Intimate Partner Violence', 'Domestic Violence', 'COVID19', 'SARS-CoV-2', 'Coronavirus', 'Women', 'Pregnant Women' and their Persian
equivalents. From 629 obtained articles, we finally reviewed the full text of 14 (2 Cohort and
12 cross-sectional studies) articles, which had inclusion criteria. After examining the articles'
acceptability and quality, the data extracted and recorded in the researcher-made checklist and
the extracted data presented in the form of a summary of the article.
Results: 8510 women participated in these studies. The results of extracting the articles'
findings show three main categories for IPV that impact women's health: 1. Physical IPV 2.
Emotional IPV 3. Sexual IPV.
Conclusion: Lockdown period was dangerous to women. COVID-19 can impact on increased
frequency and severity of IPV and lower quality of life. Strategies must be determined to
prevent and respond to violence against women. Telemedicine could help in this time. |
