| Improving the solubility of carvedilol (CVD) as a poorly soluble drug in water is very important for increasing its bioavailability and its effectiveness. Co-solvency methods can be advantageous in this regard and deep eutectic solvents (DESs) with special characteristics can be applied as a co-solvent. This study provides the experimental solubility data of CVD in aqueous mixtures of a DES composed of choline chloride (ChCl) and ethylene glycol (EG) in the T = (293.15–313.15) K temperature range. The solubility of CVD rises with the increasing mass fraction of DES in aqueous mixtures of it. The maximum solubility is in the neat DES and the lowest one is related to the neat water. The van’t Hoff, the mixture response surface, Jouyban-Acree, Jouyban-Acree-van’t Hoff and λh mathematical models were applied to correlate the experimental solubility data. In addition, thermodynamic functions for the dissolution process of CVD were calculated from the experimental data |
