| خلاصه مقاله | Radiologic Approach Pediatric Chest infection Bacterial Pneumonia: presents as alveolar consolidation in a lobar and segmental distribution and air bronchograms may be seen. Sensitivity of Supine images for parapneumonic effusion is less than upright and about 70% (may require up to 500 mL). Round pneumonia: bacterial lung infection with very round, well-defined appearance on chest radiography; simulates mass lesion. Pneumonia with Cavitary Necrosis: Complication of bacterial pneumonia with focus of necrosis develops in consolidated lung, resulting in variable number of thin-walled cyst. Primary tuberculosis: initially affects the lungs but may spread throughout the body. Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia: the most common opportunistic pulmonary infection in children with AIDS and also seen in leukemia or lymphoma patients. Aspergillosis: one of the more common sporadic infection that affect children with conditions such as asthma, cyst fibrosis. |
