Material and methods:
In 24 patients with the upper urinary tract stone which in them nephropyelolithotomy procedure was selected, after the consent is taken, in the operating room, after anesthesia, the bladder was catheterized and the urine sampling was done and nominated as tube number one, after approaching the pelvic the second sampling was done and nominated tube number 2, when a stone removed it was put in a tube number 3 with normal saline after shaking put in the another tube number 4 with normal saline after shaking and crashing of the stone, it was put in the tube number 5 and the liquid of all the tubes were cultured for gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.
Results:
The three samples of the number one tubes were negative but in contrast, the number 2 tubes were positive, and 7 samples of the number 5 tubes were positive, overall in the12% of the samples there was no concordance with the bladder sample, and the 30 % of the stone cultures were positive in contrast with the negative bladder culture.
Conclusion: There was no total concordance in the stone culture and the bladder urine culture, and the urine culture of the pelvic, the stone culture is the definitive diagnosis of the microorganism which involve with the post handling of the stone bacteremia or sepsis. |
