| Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an immune-mediated neurodegenerative disorder that can affect both the nervous and immune systems of the body. The determination of diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment-associated biomarkers has attracted the attention of many researchers. MiRNAs, as non-coding RNAs, play a pivotal role in modifying the autoimmune process of MS in both immune and nerve cells. They have great potential to be developed as diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers. This review comprehensively summarizes the variably expressed miRNAs in neural cells, and MS patients' biofluids. It has been proven that some dysregulated miRNAs are related to the pathogenesis of the disease, and these miRNAs could be utilized as biomarkers in determining various states of MS and defining effective therapeutic strategies. |
