| A qualitative descriptive approach was applied to explore the viewpoints of children about remarriage of their old mothers in the Kurdish city of Bukan, Iran. Key elements of the Standards for Reporting Qualitative Research (SRQR) was used
to design the research. In-depth interviews and focus group discussions were carried out with potential and eligible participants which recruited the use of purposive sampling. The data was analyzed using conventional content analysis technique. Proponents of remarriage believed that it would reduce the burden on their children, while the other group opposed second marriage because of the mother’s physical disability, family loss, fear of normative pressures, and a sense of ownership over the mother. |
