| Introduction: Chlorella vulgaris as a dietary supplement have been investigated in clinical trials in attempt to decrease body weight, lipid profile, and blood glucose. This systematic review aimed to assess this effects. Methods: PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines were charted in this review. Subject search was performed in some databases for randomized clinical trials published in English until September 2019, which assessed the effects of chlorella vulgaris on obesity related metabolic disorders in clinical trials. Results: OF 4248 records screened, a total of 13 articles met the study criteria. The studies were generally of average quality and didn't consider major confounding factors in their random allocation or analyses. Conclusion: Chlorella vulgaris may have effects on obesity related metabolic disorders; however, collected studies lacked statistical power to reach a definite conclusion.
