| خلاصه مقاله | Femoral mononeuropathy post kidney transplants a very rare surgical complication in kidney Transplantation The Kidney transplant has been accepted as a first choice for the treatment of chronic renal failure, the urologic complication is the most common surgical complication, but femoral nerve injury after kidney transplant is a very rare complication that we present as a rare complication in our department with experience of 1500 kidneys transplant. We present two cases of femoral mononeuropathy which occurred since 1371 to 1398. Cases: in a female with the age of 55 years and with a duration of 4 years’ dialysis (her donor was her son) and in another female with the age of 45 years and duration of 3 years’ dialysis (her donor was a cadaver) immediately after kidney transplant operation symptom of femoral nerve injury were detected, which included: in standing and walking condition they couldn’t keep knee and knee flexed. They were consulted by a neurologist and for all of them evaluation with MRI carried out and finally, femoral mononeuropathy was diagnosed. The patients were mobilized by the barrel and physical treatment were started and Gabapentin prescribed for all of them. After 4 weeks there was remission in motor function of the nerve and the patients were capable of walking. |
