| Amino acids (AAs) as a promising class of biocompatible materials have gained tremendous attention in various fields such as nutrition, human health, drug delivery, imaging, and sensing. Polymerization of different AAs by various strategies leads to generation of a large number of poly (amino acids) (PAAs) as a novel and biocompatible polymers, which have a great potential in the application of the bio (sensors). This review provides an overview of the application of PAAs for sensing platforms, and focuses on the critical role of different detection methods like labelled and label-free towards efficient biomedical based on PAAs were discussed. Moreover, some missing gaps and major limitations of the application of these polymers in sensing approaches and real analysis methods are surveyed. This review seeks to highlight the significant advances in functional nanomaterials with PAAs and their application for the bioanalysis of biomarkers, neurotransmitters, water/industry contaminators, pesticide, and ions, followed by prospects and challenges. |
