| خلاصه مقاله | Ischemic stroke remains as the catastrophic cerebrovascular event causing death and permanent disability with significant economic burden to the healthcare system. As a consequence of increased life expectancy and aging population, prevalence of stroke and its complications seems to be even pivotal in the future. In so far as, epidemiological data show, a number of stroke patients has been increased by 81% and the number of survivors and those died from stroke problems has increased by 95% and 40%, respectively from 1990 to 2017. These facts propose that there are not only considerable pitfalls in post-acute stroke care management, but also effective preventive approaches are not well developed to deal with stroke risk factors. Considering possibility that ischemic stroke may be preventable and once occurred may be amenable by applying suitable therapeutic strategies were our major impetus to adjust the present symposium |
