| خلاصه مقاله | Nowadays, resistance of human fungal pathogens to existent antifungal agents is the most important concern in antimicrobial therapy. Therefore, developing new antifungal compounds to combat the emerging resistant forms of pathogens are required. Halophilic bacteria are able to become as a novel source of medicinal products such as antimicrobial compounds and antitumor materials. Halophilic bacteria are mostly found in natural environments containing high concentration of NaCl. In Iran, the soils of Semnan desserts also have this potential to be a rich source of halophilic bacteria. In this research, eight halophilic bacteria were isolated from the soil of Semnan province. The classes of halophilic bacteria were identified then they were evaluated for production of antimicrobial agent by disk diffusion method. After that, the isolated bacteria were identified by concerning the 16S rRNA sequencing technique. The results of experiments demonstrated that the isolated bacteria belong to the genus Halobacillus and they are mostly moderately halophilic bacteria. Among the isolated bacteria, one of them showed extent antifungal behavior against human pathogeneses of Candida Albicans, which is an opportunistic fungus and resistant to existing antifungal agents. |
