| خلاصه مقاله | Myiasis is the invasion of organs and tissues of humans or other vertebrate animals by fly larvae. Different terms are used to describe myiasis which affects different parts of the body for example urogenital myiasis. In the recent years urogenital myiasis has been reported whose agent is Psychoda albipennis larvae. Therefore, in this study , electronic databases including Scopus, PubMed, Embase, Medline, Web of science, and Google scholar were searched using urogenital myiasis , Psychoda albipennis , Iran and world as keywords. Articles published in 1978 to 2018 were investigated. A total of 25 studies were found from which 20 cases have been reported from Turkey and only 2 cases from Iran. The most prevalent age group was between 21 and 30 years (31% ) , with 55% female and 45% male. Due to the importance of urogenital myiasis and the possible side effects , researchers are expected to study urogenital myiasis regularly in Iran and other countries. |
