خلاصه مقالهIntroduction: The angiogenesis and dynamical pattern of blood fusion in the vessels of the breast cancer masses can be histopathologic information from invasion and tumor growth. Non-linear imaging with Microbubbles of Contrast Materials (CEUS) is known as a strong non-invasive method with high sensitivity and specificity in the static and dynamic examinations of blood vessels. Extensive studies have been done to establish a correlation between CEUS data and histopathologic factors of Breast masses in order to differentiate between benign and malignant masses. In this overview, the CEUS method is used to detect and differentiate between benign and malignant masses. Method: The keywords “breast CEUS”, “breast cancer”, “contrast enhanced sonography” were entered in the scientific databases of Google scholar, Scopus, PubMed, and Elsevier. About 10 fully relevant articles were extracted and reviewed. Then the sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy of this method were obtained. Results: In general, two groups of information include of information of static pattern of vascular enhancement and time parameters of blood fusion in mass vessels are surveyed and analyzed for the correlation between benign and malignant mass with the results of CEUS. Blood perfusion time in Breast tissue is an average of 6 minutes that can be divided in Three phases: early, middle and late. In the early phase, there is no significant difference between benign and malignant masses, but in the late phase, malignant masses are hyper-enhanced and have heterogeneous and round about patterns and benign masses are hypo-enhanced, and their vascular pattern is soft and homogeneous. Of course, fibro-adenoma with large dimensions and necrosis are hyper-enhanced. Important dynamic parameters include peak intensity (PI), Wash-in-time (WIT), Wash-out-time (WOT) Time-to-peak (TTP) and Area under the Curve (AUS). Malignant tumors have faster TTP time but have longer WIT time than benign masses. The PI and AUS and WOT are larger than benign masses. Anyway, There are also false positives that do not comply with the above rules and observations, including fibro adenoma, macinus carcinoma, cystosarcoma phyllodes and lymphosarcoma. commonly, the sensitivity and specificity of the CEUS method in differentiating between malignant tumors from benign are 87% and 97%, respectively, which is 16% higher than Doppler ultrasound. The homogeneous, heterogeneous and marginal enhancement pattern does not have meaningful diagnostic information for differentiating the masses. Conclusion: Because CEUS does not use ionizing radiation, the CEUS method is becoming a common tool in detecting breast cancer. The information on this non-invasive method is related to the pathological characteristics of the mass. Therefore, histopathologic prognostic factors are able to distinguishing malignant masses and early management of the disease. However, due to false positives, its results are still insufficiently reliable for routine clinical use thus Need more studies to achieve a stronger standard.
