| خلاصه مقاله | Background and aims: Due to hospitalization and receiving health care services, School absences have increased in children with Cystic Fibrosis and also they are not able to engage in activities as much as peers. This study was aimed to evaluate the test-retest and inter-rater reliability of the COPM in children with CF and to compare the occupational performance of CF children with healthy participants. Methodology: In this methodological and cross-sectional survey with matched-control, the participants consisted of 21 children (reliability phase) with CF which were selected based on the convenience sampling method. In comparison phase, 21 Children with CF and 30 healthy children were recruited to compare the occupational performance. The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) was used to collect data on the occupational performance of children with CF. Results: Test-retest reliability, as administered by an occupational therapist using a 7 days interval was from 0.86 to 0.87. Agreement of therapists’ scores for inter-rater reliability ranged from 0.87 to 0.9. We found a significant difference in performance subscale scores between children with CF and healthy children. Conclusion: COPM is a reliable tool to evaluate the occupational performance of children with CF. Occupational performance of children with CF is lower than normally developing children. Therefore, the CF children and their parents may need help and education in doing and organizing their activities and life roles. |
