خلاصه مقالهBackground: Biomarkers have important diagnostic and prognostic value in acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Soluble lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (sLOX-1) is one of the markers involved in atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability and rupture. This study aims to evaluate the prognostic value of sLOX-1 through its correlation with Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) risk score and association with clinical outcomes in two major spectrums of ACS. Methods: In this, prospective cross-sectional study 320 patients with documented ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or Unstable angina/Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (UA/NSTEMI) were selected. Measurement of sLOX-1 was done from the first sample obtained immediately after patient arrived in emergency department (ED). TIMI risk score was calculated separately for both groups. In hospital death, heart failure and recurrent infarction were considered as major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). Results: There was a significant positive correlation between sLOX-1 and TIMI score, MACEs and heart failure. Whilst, significant negative correlation was also identified regarding sLOX-1 and ejection fraction. Conclusions: Circulating sLox-1 as a biomarker could be used to predicting major cardiac events. This Biomarker is likely to be clinically useful in the triage and management of ACS patients.
