| خلاصه مقاله | Fe3O4/zeolite nanocomposites: effect of zeolite support type on MRI longitudinal relaxivity Abstract Introduction: Zeolites are aluminosilicate crystalline materials with different microporous structures containing the pores and channels. Fe3O4/zeolite nanocomposites have shown potential to act as MRI T2 contrast agent. However, zeolites different types effect on MRI longitudinal relaxivity (r1) of Fe3O4/zeolite nanocomposites have been not studied. This issue was considered with the current study. Materials and methods: Fe3O4/ZSM-5 and Fe3O4/4A zeolites nanocomposites with similar iron content (3.4%) were used in this study. The shapes and sizes of the nanocomposites were determined by use of scanning electron microscopy. Different concentrations of the both nanocomposites were imaged by use of a 1.5 T clinical MRI scanner and the T1-weigted MR images were analyzed to plot the r1 relaxivity curves. Results: Scanning electron microscope images showed spherical and cubic shapes for Fe3O4/ZSM-5 and Fe3O4/4A nanocomposites, respectively. The sizes of the both nanocomposites were in the range of 80-150 nm. There was a linear correlation between longitudinal relaxation rate (1/T1) and iron concentration of the both nanocomposites. The r1 of Fe3O4/4A nanocomposite (5.03 mM-1s-1) was obtained about 2 times larger than that of Fe3O4/ZSM-5 (2.54 mM-1s-1). Conclusion: Different structures of the 4A and ZSM-5 zeolites significantly affect on longitudinal relaxivity of the Fe3O4/zeolite nanocomposites. |
