| Introduction: Health care determines the quality of patient satisfaction and treatment success. To this end, the
purpose of this study was to evaluate the satisfaction and expectation of parents of dental treatment services
for children and adults under general anesthesia in Tabriz Dental School in 1396.
Materials and Methods: The data collection tool in this study was based on similar studies based on a
questionnaire. The first part contains the demographic data of the subjects and the second part of the
questionnaire 20 questions about measuring the parental satisfaction of children undergoing general
anesthesia and adult satisfaction under general anesthetic treatment and 5 questions in assessing the
expectations of parents of children and adults themselves. Responses are presented in Likert scale on a fivepoint
scale (very low satisfaction, low satisfaction, moderate, high satisfaction and very high satisfaction), and
responses received from 1 to 5 points. The minimum score you can earn in satisfaction questions is 20 and a
maximum of 100.
Results: 137 participants participated in this study, of which 57 (41.6%) were female and 80 (58.4%) were
male. The highest satisfaction with the possibility of meeting the patient immediately after the completion of
the treatment (56.2%) and the way the dentist was treated with the patient (54.7%), and the least satisfaction
with the cost of treatment and information on the cost of preoperative treatment (0.7%). 62.8% of the
respondents also had a great deal of satisfaction with the services they provided. Patients reported the most
reason to seek treatment for themselves and their child with high pain (73%). Also, for patients, the most
important benefit of treatment under anesthesia than conventional treatment was easier access to treatment
(47.4%). The most important defect in the treatment of anesthetized patients was the risk of anesthesia
(61.3%) than conventional treatment. Patients also had the most anticipated treatment (59.9%). Finally, 134
(97.8%) of the patients stated that they recommend this type of treatment to other patients.
Conclusion: The results of this study show that parents are very satisfied with the existing conditions seeking
to improve the quality of their children's lives. Also, after healing and relieving pain in children, their eating
habits and sleep are improved. |
